    Ken Herock was inducted into the inaugural College of Applied Human Sciences Hall of Fame in the fall of 2025. He was previously inducted into the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Hall of Fame in 1995.

    Herock played both tight end and linebacker for the Mountaineer football team from 1959 to 1962 under coach Gene Corum and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education in 1963. Known especially for his performance at tight end, he finished his WVU career with 292 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

    E. Roy Lester was inducted into the inaugural College of Applied Human Sciences Hall of Fame in the fall of 2025. He was previously inducted into the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Hall of Fame in 1995.

    A native of Spencer, W.Va., Lester was a standout three-sport athlete at WVU, lettering in football, basketball, and baseball. On the gridiron, he played end for the Mountaineers, including on the 1949 Sun Bowl team, finishing his career with 16 receptions, 259 yards, and two touchdowns. He also posted a .339 batting average as an outfielder and appeared in 21 games as a center on the basketball team.

    Joseph Marconi was inducted into the inaugural College of Applied Human Sciences Hall of Fame in the fall of 2025. He was previously inducted into the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Hall of Fame in 1995.

    A native of Fredericktown, Pa., Marconi transferred to WVU from the University of Maryland and became a standout running back for the Mountaineer football program. He rushed for 998 yards on 181 carries (5.5 avg.) and scored 18 touchdowns over his collegiate career. Marconi was part of the 1954 Sugar Bowl team and contributed to WVU’s 31-7 record during his tenure, including a 30-game Southern Conference winning streak. His top performance came against NC State in 1953, rushing for 118 yards on just 11 carries. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education with a minor in industrial arts.
