In addition to his academic work, Majumder was active in civic and public health initiatives. He served as a Rotary district governor, led international service trips, and partnered with his wife, Dr. Indira Majumder, on a rubella immunization project in India. The couple also established the Drs. Ranjit and Indira Majumder Education Policy Research Endowment Award through the WVU Foundation to support students studying education policy and practice in West Virginia.
