Biographical Sketch
Dr. Paulette Patterson Dilworth is an associate professor in the School of Education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), specializing in Curriculum and Instruction. She also serves as the Vice President for Access and Engagement at UAB, a role in which she leads initiatives to promote success for all students, faculty, and staff.
Dr. Dilworth earned her Ph.D. in Educational Studies from Emory University. Her career in higher education includes positions such as Assistant Vice President for Access and Community Initiatives at Auburn University and Associate Professor at Indiana University. Throughout her career, Dr. Dilworth has been recognized for her contributions to research, teaching, and service in education. She has received awards such as the National Council for Social Studies Exemplary Research Award and the Kipchoge Kirkland Teaching for Social Justice Award. Her scholarly work includes numerous publications and editorial contributions in the field of social education.
