Biographical Sketch

Marlena Bravender was appointed as a member of the College of Applied Human Sciences Visiting Committee in 2024. Bravender serves as Interim Director of Academic Technologies at Northeastern University, where she leads initiatives in educational technology integration and faculty development. She has more than 20 years of experience in instructional design, with research interests in the impact of technology on educational infrastructure and simulation-based decision-making.

Bravender holds an EdD from Eastern Michigan University and has consulted globally to enhance instructional technology practices. Her contributions include publications on game-based learning and simulation and receiving the National Education Association Learning and Leadership Grant. She actively contributes to Educational Leaders Without Borders and the International Council of Professors of Educational Leadership.
