Biographical Sketch

Dr. Thadeu Gasparetto is an Assistant Professor of Sport Management in the School of Sport Sciences at the College of Applied Human Sciences.

Previously, he served as a Senior Lecturer in Sport Business at Leeds Beckett University (United Kingdom), an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Saint Petersburg (Russia), a Research Fellow at the International Laboratory of Intangible-Driven Economy (IDLab/HSE), and Coordinator of the "Sports Analytics" track in the Master’s program "Management and Analytics for Business." He has also participated in academic exchanges and delivered guest lectures in Brazil, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Dr. Gasparetto earned his PhD from the University of Vigo (Spain), including an exchange period at Birkbeck, University of London (UK) in 2016, while serving as a Junior Research Fellow at HSE (Perm, Russia) from 2016 to 2018. He also holds a Master’s degree in Sports Business Management from the University of Vigo (2014) and a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Sports Sciences from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2012).

He is an active member of the International Association of Sports Economists, and a former member of the European Association for Sport Management, and the Brazilian Association for Sport Management. His professional experience includes working as an Administrative Manager for Tupi Football Club during the Campeonato Mineiro Module I (2013) and as an intern at Fundación Celta de Vigo (2013).

Dr. Gasparetto specializes in Sports Economics and Management, focusing on the managerial, economic, and financial aspects of sports. He has published more than 35 peer-reviewed manuscripts over the last years, including publications in highly ranked journals like the Journal of Economic Psychology, International Journal of Drug Policy, European Sport Management Quarterly, Journal of Sports Economics, Managerial Finance, Gender in Management, among many others.
