Biographical Sketch
Dr. Emi Tsuda joined the School of Sport Sciences in 2017. She teaches PEK undergraduate courses, PETE master’s courses, and CATS doctoral courses. She has worked with more than 150 preservice teachers and in-service teachers.
Her research focuses are on physical education teachers’ content knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge, physical education policy and accountability, physical education teachers’ cultural competence, and physical activity promotion. She has published one book, 11 book chapters, and approximately 70 peer-reviewed journal articles. She was awarded the SHAPE America Research Fellow in 2023.
She completed her bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Tsukuba, Japan, and completed a second master's degree and a doctoral degree in physical education teacher education at The Ohio State University.
