Biographical Sketch
Anna Simmons is a teaching assistant professor in the School of Counseling and Well-being at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. Additionally, she provides outpatient counseling services to children in the Greater Morgantown region and supervises provisionally licensed counselors pursuing licensure in counseling in West Virginia. Her scholarship focuses on clinical mental health counseling, school counseling, and counseling youth and adolescents. She also provides supervision for students completing their field placement experiences under the Mountaineer School-Based Mental Health Fellows Program. Before becoming an assistant professor, Ms. Simmons was a school counselor and licensed professional counselor in West Virginia.
She earned her M.A. and B.S. from West Virginia University. Ms. Simmons is a certified school counselor, licensed professional counselor, and approved licensed professional supervisor (ALPS) in the state of West Virginia, as well as a nationally certified counselor (NCC).
