
Edward C. Keller III
Edward C. Keller III was inducted into the College of Applied Human Sciences Hall of Fame in the fall of 2025. He was previously inducted into the College of Education and Human Services Hall of Fame in 2004.
Keller earned a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education from West Virginia University in 1976 and a Master of Arts degree in curriculum and instruction in 1985.
He taught science in Monongalia County public schools for 26 years, working with students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. He developed three science kits that have been distributed to teachers nationwide and secured 16 years of funding to create materials and instructional strategies for marine science programs designed for students with disabilities.
His work was recognized with multiple honors, including the National Science Foundation Teachers Association Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Teaching in 1986 and the Milken Family Distinguished Educator Award in 1990. In 1991, he received the Outstanding Elementary Educator Merit Award from the West Virginia Education Fund and the Award for Distinguished Achievement in Classroom Instruction from the WVU College of Human Resources and Education Alumni Association.
