Biographical Sketch

Yuanhua Wang is an Assistant Professor of Science Education in the College of Applied Human Sciences at West Virginia University. She obtained her Ph.D. in educational psychology at Texas Tech University. She also holds master’s degrees in Biological Science and Curriculum and Instruction.

Her research interests encompass several areas, including:

Science Inquiry and Inquiry Teaching

Her research spans from theoretical frameworks to the practical design and implementation of inquiry-based teaching methods in science education.

Teacher's Knowledge in STEM Education

She explores the knowledge that teachers require to effectively teach STEM subjects, focusing on pedagogical content knowledge.

Computational Thinking in Science Education

Her work centers on the integration of computational thinking into science method courses, with a dual goal of enhancing the motivation of preservice teachers to learn computational thinking and enabling them to effectively integrate computational thinking into their teaching practices.
