This leadership award is offered in memory of Jerry P. Wilkins, President of the 2001-2002 Graduate Sport Management Program class. Jerry was an exemplary student, a leader among his peers, and one who exhibited the characteristics of wisdom, spiritual maturity, and humility. He consistently accepted the challenges afforded him without necessarily looking for acknowledgement. He enlightened every life he touched.
For these reasons, we have chosen to honor Jerry’s memory with this award to a deserving ethnic minority (first priority will be African American) student accepted into the On Campus Graduate Sport Management Program, and exhibiting Leadership qualities
Requirements
- Degree: Graduate
- GPA: Must maintain 3.0 GPA
- Major: Must be accepted into the on-campus graduate sport management program
- Need: Must show financial need
- Ethnicity: Must be an ethnic minority
- Involvement: Must show leadership qualities

- Applicants must be recommended by Sport Management faculty
