R. Craig Walker
Craig Walker was inducted into the inaugural College of Applied Human Sciences Hall of Fame in the fall of 2025. He was previously inducted into the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Hall of Fame in 2000.
Walker earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from West Virginia University in 1977 and a Master of Science degree in sport management in 1981. He began his career as an accounting officer for the West Virginia Network for Educational Telecomputing before moving into senior-level financial and administrative positions at WVU and the WVU Foundation.
From 1981 to 1995, Walker served as assistant athletic director for finance and administration within the WVU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. He then became vice president, finance and administration and treasurer for the WVU Foundation, where he served for 12 years. In 2007, he was named chief of staff to the president of WVU.
Following his tenure in higher education, Walker transitioned to private industry. As director of business services for Glenmark Holding Capital, LLC, he led a multi-year management consulting engagement with FCX Systems, Inc., a global provider of solid-state frequency converters for commercial and military aviation, shipyard, and industrial use. In 2008, he became president and CEO of FCX Systems.
Walker was the inaugural recipient of the graduate sport management program’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 1992 and taught sport finance in the program for more than 20 years. He served multiple terms on the school’s Visiting Committee, including two terms as chair.
His community service has included leadership roles with the Mylan Park Foundation, Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce, Fairmont State University Foundation, West Liberty University Research Corporation, and several civic, youth sports, and nonprofit organizations.
