Booker T. Walton, Jr.
Booker T. Walton was inducted into the inaugural College of Applied Human Sciences Hall of Fame in the fall of 2025. He was previously inducted into the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Hall of Fame in 1996.
A 1971 graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education, Walton continued his education at WVU, earning a master’s degree in agriculture and forestry in 1975. He later completed extensive continuing education in financial planning, insurance, investment analysis and business strategy.
In 1977, Walton founded B.T. Walton & Associates Financial Services, establishing himself as a leader in financial planning. A registered financial planner and certified investment specialist, he built a reputation for personalized service and long-term client success. His firm, based in Morgantown, also had affiliate offices in Clarksburg, W.Va., and Latrobe, Pa.
He served for 16 years as a general agent with Franklin Life Insurance Company and as a registered principal and representative for Franklin Financial Services Corporation. His professional accolades include induction into the Who’s Who Worldwide Registry of Global Business Leaders in 1993, life membership in Franklin’s Million Dollar Conference, the National Insurance Sales Achievement Award and the company’s Legion of Honor.
In addition to his business success, Walton has been an active contributor to his community. He is a former president of the Morgantown Touchdown Club, a member of the Cheat Lake Rotary Club and the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce, and served as chair of the WVU Visiting Committee and as a member of the WVU Alumni Association.
