Biographical Sketch
Alaina Schrader, LPC, NCC, ADHD-CCSP, PMH-C, is a Faculty Lecturer in the West Virginia University Counseling and Well-Being program. A Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience as a school counselor, therapist, and counselor educator, she is passionate about preparing the next generation of counselors with both practical skills and a strong ethical and philosophical identity . Her teaching emphasizes creativity, authenticity, and a neurodiversity-affirming perspective.
In addition to her teaching at WVU, Alaina runs NeuroSpark Solutions, a consulting practice that helps adults, families and school districts build systems that support well-being, strengths, and daily life management. She also develops professional trainings, creative counseling tools, and accessible resources for school counselors and therapists. With a background as both practitioner and educator, she is committed to empowering counselors to blend evidence-based practice with innovative approaches that meet the needs of diverse students, clients, and communities.
