Tracy Schoenadel

Tracy Schoenadel was inducted into the inaugural College of Applied Human Sciences Hall of Fame in the fall of 2025. She was previously inducted into the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Hall of Fame in 2018.

A native of West Virginia, Schoenadel earned her degree in sport management from West Virginia University, where she worked for nine years in the WVU football office assisting Coach Don Nehlen and Recruiting Coordinator Donnie Young with administrative duties in recruiting and eligibility. She also served as president of the undergraduate student club in the School of Physical Education and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.

Schoenadel began her professional career in 2000 as vice president and executive director of the ESPN Sports Poll with TNS, where she spent nearly 12 years leading one of the industry’s most influential fan and sponsorship research platforms. In 2012, she joined Kantar Media as vice president, overseeing sports intelligence initiatives. From 2015 to 2020, she served as senior vice president at YouGov Sport, followed by leadership roles with YouGov America as senior vice president and global head of new business (2020–21) and chief customer officer (2021–22). After a brief independent role as a sport marketing research consultant, she co-founded Vision Insights in 2022 and continues to serve as chief operating officer.

Her academic contributions include serving as the original managing editor of Sport Marketing Quarterly, as well as writing chapters in academic textbooks on sponsorship research methodology. She has held faculty appointments at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, New York University, University of Richmond, and the University of Connecticut.

Schoenadel is regarded as one of the leading authorities in sport marketing and sponsorship research, and her expertise has been featured in USA Today, Advertising Age, Wall Street Journal, Sports Business Journal, Detroit Free Press, Forbes, and Fortune.

She has remained closely connected to WVU, serving as a member of the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Visiting Committee and as a Mountaineer Athletic Club northeast region fundraising representative. In 2008, she and her spouse, Laura Boyd, joined the Woodburn Circle Society in recognition of their philanthropic support for the University. She has served on the WVU Board of Directors and was given the WVU Outstanding Alumni Award in 2024.
