Women’s Basketball

West Virginia University women’s basketball is a member of the Big 12 Conference, winning the league title in 2017. Women’s basketball has been an intercollegiate sport at West Virginia University since 1974, and the program has recorded more than 800 wins and made 17 postseason appearances with 13 straight from 2007-19. WVU has advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament eight times and since 2004 has had nine players with links to the WNBA. In 1984, Mountaineer player Georgeann Wells became the first woman to dunk in an official NCAA game. The Mountaineers are coached by Mike Carey, the program’s all-time leader in wins and winning percentage. Under his leadership since 2002, WVU has won a school single-season record 30 wins, posted 13 21-win seasons and recorded the highest rankings in school history.

Responsibilities

  • Address envelopes for recruit mail outs
  • Cut mail outs for recruits
  • Work with administrative assistant on Carey’s Kids Mailouts, Hoops N Heels, SA Scrap Books and other duties as needed
