Biographical Sketch
Dr. May Yuan earned her undergraduate degree in English from Southwest University in Chongqing, China. She traveled to the U.S. to earn two master's degrees from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota: a MA in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) in 2009 and a MS in Information Media in 2012. In 2016, Yuan earned her Ph.D. in Learning, Design, and Technology from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA, after which she accepted a faculty position at West Virginia University College of Education and Human Services.
Dr. Yuan's research interests include enhancing STEM teaching and learning through the use of technologies (e.g., robotics) and improving students' learning by promoting their engagement in peer and formative assessments. In 2016, she won the National Science Foundation early Career Award presented by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT).
